New Air for the El Cerro Municipal Sports Center
Background
The Coslada City Council in central Spain saw the urgent need to improve the services of the El Cerro Sports Center. The main issues included the formation of a permanent fog in some areas of the pool, condensation on windows, as well as an unpleasant odor in the air.
The Solution
Rocio from CDA INGENIEROS designed the renovation project for the sports center incorporating a new high efficiency HRU dehumidifier from Borealis.
Combi 80

SonicFlow™
The dehumidifier combined with FabricAir’s antibacterial textile ducts ensured that all the areas between the pools, bleachers, and beaches had a uniform air flow to prevent condensation. The nearly 100-meter network of ducts was designed to take advantage of the natural slope of the enclosure. The system follows incline elegantly through the interior according to the layout of the roof.
Results
After installing the new equipment and the fabric diffusion systems, there is no longer an indoor mist, uncomfortable drafts, or unpleasant odors. The new dehumidifier also reduces energy consumption by using air from the outside.
“Together with FabricAir and Borealis technicians, it was very easy to complete the renovation of this sports center on schedule. All the new equipment was installed with great ease,” confirms technician Juan F. Perez of Licuas installers.
